Why Your Body Needs Vitamin A

Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin that is best known for its positive effects in helping the eyes adjust to changes in light. Vitamin A contributes to the overall health of the eyes, skin and mucous membranes. This vitamin, also known as retinol, can be found in most food sources of animals, but there are also a number of plant-based food sources that provide beta carotene, which becomes vitamin A inside the body. Vitamin A is also widely regarded as an excellent antioxidant, which means that it is responsible for neutralizing free radicals in the body that cause damage to cells and tissues.

It has been suggested by studies in the past that the beta carotene and vitamin A can help people who have coronary artery disease or CAD. However, it is not recommended that beta carotene or vitamin A supplements should be taken for this purpose, however, until more scientific research can be carried out. It is already known that vitamin A and beta carotene have a positive effect on the body, but is not yet known exactly what to make vitamin A in the body, especially when it comes to coronary artery disease or CAD.

Vitamins are classified more material on the basis of what can be dissolved, and for that reason, vitamin A is categorized as a fat soluble vitamin. Other fat-soluble vitamins include vitamins D, E and K. The alternative is that they are water-soluble vitamins. Soluble vitamins are stored in fatty tissue in the body, and can be stored from a few days to as much as six months. If you ingest too much of a fat-soluble vitamins can be stored in the wrong place, such as the liver, which can cause problems in your body. Fat-soluble vitamins should never be taken in large doses, as this can lead to toxicity problems.

In fact, there are a number of health problems that make it difficult for people to absorb vitamins such as vitamin A. It is important to know how the absorption of the vitamin is affected by chronic health conditions. It is also important to know how much vitamin A you need to consume for optimal health. It is generally recommended that women consume about 800 mcg of vitamin A, and that men consume 1000 mcg of vitamin A daily for optimum health. Fortunately, there are a number of sources of vitamin A are available, including beef liver, cheddar cheese, fortified milk, egg yolk, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrots, broccoli, apricots, melon, spinach or other greens collar.

Vitamin A deficiencies are not common in the United States, but when the deficiency of this vitamin is produced, can cause night blindness, eye inflammation, diarrhea and a variety of other problems. Over consumption of vitamin A, on the other hand can cause problems with irritability, nausea, blurred vision and many other issues. Someone who takes too much vitamin A may have the feet and hands to turn orange. Severe vitamin A toxicity can cause hair loss, a spleen and liver, and even growth retardation in the severe forms. For the same reason it is important that you understand how much vitamin A you are getting in your diet. If you are getting enough vitamin A and beta carotene in their food, there is no need to take a vitamin supplement.

To obtain the maximum amounts of vitamins in their food, then you must immediately refrigerate fresh produce, and must keep the milk and grain products with strong amounts of light. Vitamins in food are easily washed or destroyed during food preparation and storage processes. If you are taking vitamin A in the form of a supplement, be sure to store them in a cool, dry place that has no excess moisture.
